Historic Walking Tours of Narragansett Pier
The station in 1902 …. and nearly 100 years later.
Railroad Station
145 Boon Street
The former rail station at 145 Boon Street was actually the second depot at the Pier for the
Narragansett Pier Rail Road. Designed by architect Willard Kent, it was built between 1891 and
1896 of quarry-faced granite and hard pine, after the style of the Casino. The 21/2-story,
wood-frame and stone structure was altered many years later and moved to ts present location
on Boon Street. It now houses a laundromat and shops.
